State Housing Finance Agency Low Income Housing Tax Credit Data Transfer Standard Files & Documentation

The State Housing Finance Agency (HFA) Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Data Transfer Standard is an open data standard developed by an open-invitation group of industry stakeholders, including representatives from state housing finance agencies, industry trade associations (i.e., the National Affordable Housing Management Association, the National Council of State Housing Agencies), software providers, and property owners and managers. The goal of this standard is to assist the state housing finance agencies and their industry partners and regulated entities with the exchange of information required for the LIHTC program. The State HFA LIHTC Data Transfer Standard is not affiliated with any other initiatives, data standards, or publications.

As an OPEN standard, it is voluntary and not regulated. Compliance is the obligation of the users. The MITS Working Group and the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC) are hosting the standard on the MITS web site as a service to the standard’s developers, users and potential users. MITS, its members, NMHC and its members have no identity of ownership with the standard or its content, and does not monitor or enforce its use or its users.

For general questions regarding the development of this standard, please contact Michelle Kitchen, director of government affairs at the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) at 703-683-8630 or by email at michelle.kitchen@nahma.org.
